One post to rule them all.

Hey so just to clear up yesterday's picks and today's I'm actually posting from my phone.

Yesterday the Cubs pulled of a surprising loss. And as my mom would say, "that's why they play the games!" but Texas and my long shot pulled through. Brining me to a solid 9-10.

On to today. Today's calls are not so much stats as gut feeling, some pitching info, and other sentiments around the sports capping community.

Minnesota @ Cleveland - CLEVELAND TO WIN
Toronto @ Kansas City - TORONTO TO WIN

And my call because I hate their defense and like the home teams offense
Tampa Bay @ Los Angeles Angels - LOS ANGELES TO WIN

So there you have it. More guts less stats and a little bit of good old fashioned bias.

One last interesting note, on one website I saw Toronto forecast to win, and on the exact same page, Kansas. Both noted how terrible the other team was as the reason for their pick. Well I think Kansas is more terrible lol. Have fun and good luck out there. You'll need it today.

I've got about 7 seconds to write this.

Maybe not literally 7 seco.... bye!

Just kidding, but it'll be another short blog about today's predictions. With only 2 solid calls and a long shot we're hoping today is 100% better than yesterday, and 100% accurate to bring my stats back beyond par.

Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis - Chicago to WIN
Yesterdays long shot is today's sure shot, pick Chicago to win if you need to add 1 to your ticket.

SWEEP OF THE WEEK

Texas @ Cleveland - Texas to WIN
You've got 3 wins in a row for Texas, and you've got Talbot on the bump for Cleveland. We're sure to see a lot of hits from Texas today, and even if only some of those turn into runs for Texas you're gonna see a score of 6-3.

LONG SHOT of the Day

New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Angels - New York Yankees to WIN

There you have it, thanks for reading :) Have a great day and good luck.

Another one for the books.

Well, yesterday didn't go to well. Plain and simple.

It's tough to call games when all the teams are winning by 1 run, or pitchers having the best game of the season. But enough with the excuses, on to the results.

Milwaukee @ Florida - MILWAUKEE to WIN
Milwaukee managed the win, but didn't manage to do it by more than 1. Leaving the Run Line out to dry.
Decision: Milwaukee by 1

Washington @ Arizona - WASHINGTON to WIN
Joe Saunders, what can I say about Joe Saunders... Well against Washington last night he did fabulous, unfortunately that's not what he's done before and threw the game off. Letting only 2 hits in 7 innings would put this at his most impressive performance for the year and a well deserved W to his record. Seeing as every other game he's played this season except for against NYM he's had almost as many or as many hits as he's pitched innings, this was definitely the deciding factor against my pick.
Decision: Arizona WINS

Detroit @ Chicago White Sox - DETROIT to WIN
Thank goodness for a great relief pitcher. Jose Valverde closed out the day against Chicago White Sox to keep the lead at 2. Before that, Detroit pretty much just used brute force to win by just outhitting Chicago.
Decision: Detroit WINS

LONG SHOT of The Day
---------------------
Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis - CHICAGO CUBS to WIN
I knew it was a long shot when I called it, but it almost worked. With both teams having high LOB and in scoring position numbers, it really could have gone either way. At the end of the day it was a long shot and it came closer than most long shot calls do. But close is only good in horse shoes and hand grenades.
Decision: St. Louis WINS

So there you have it, adding 3 more to the missed calls side of the hash mark, and only 1 to the good side, hopefully something begins to happen, just a little magic is all I need and we'll be back on track. Who's to say today is not that day right?

Thanks for reading.

Another Day, Another round of picks.

Thanks for visiting once again, here are the picks for the day, it's gonna be short and sweet I'm a bit busy.

Milwaukee @ Florida - MILWAUKEE to WIN
Washington @ Arizona - WASHINGTON to WIN
Detroit @ Chicago White Sox - DETROIT to WIN

LONG SHOT of The Day
---------------------
Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis - CHICAGO CUBS to WIN

Not counting this as a call but.... SWEEP OF THE WEEK!!!!
Minnesota, I hate calling sweeps, it just seems like the losing team always comes out with 1 win even if it didn't seem likely. But today I'd put money on Minnesota if I really had to. But, I'm not going to, as sweeps are unlikely.

There you have it, short and sweet.

Have a great day and good luck.

Better but not the Best.

Today was definitely better than yesterday, with several great calls however my main picks were less than I'd hoped.

So here's how it looked:

Minnesota @ Kansas City - Kansas City(-149) to WIN
KC let this one get by, even though the batting was similar, we had a situation where more batters were left on base for Kansas than you had for Minnesota. With a high man left on base %, Kansas just couldn't get the guys to come home. This one was a missed call.
Decision: Minnesota Wins

Washington @ Arizona - Arizona(-164) to WIN
With only 3 hits for the day Collmenter did a great job just like I knew he would, 0 runs for the other team, thats just the way I like my wins. This one was a spot on call.
Decision: Arizona Wins

Tampa Bay @ Seattle - Seattle(-124) to WIN
4-4 Hits, and yet Seattle pulled away with a 7-0 win, again like the Arizona game I love 0 runs for the other team, really makes it relaxing to watch the game. Vargas just did much better than Sonnanstine and luckily we had the runs already so the fact that the other 3 pitchers Tampa sent out had 0 hits against them really didn't matter.
Decision: Seattle Wins

The Espresso DOUBLE LONG SHOT of the day
------------------------------------------
Toronto @ Baltimore - Toronto(+123) to WIN
A great long shot call, it's always tough to call the Blue Jays to win, because you really never know when the defense for Toronto is going to falter. However, this evening it held strong and the Jays managed to hold on to an 7-2 lead to end with 7-4.
Decision: Toronto Wins

Detroit @ Chicago - Detroit(+123) to WIN
The other longshot call was not so lucky, Andy Oliver has very few games (Just 2) this season and I wasn't really sure how well it was going to go. It didn't go as badly as I thought it might vs. the offense of the Cubs, but it didn't go as well as it needed to. Struggling to get runners in was the main factor, considering Detroit had more overall hits than Chicago, just looking at the stats you'd think they'd've won.
Decision: Detroit Wins

And so it ends, this great day of baseball, with quite a few of my potential picks coming through, but my main ones were not as lucky. An overall 3 and 2 on the day brings me up to an even 6 - 6, .500 prediction. This is not where I want to be, and I know even the pros only get .550 - .675 but I'd really like to be somewhere around .700 with great intuition and insight I should be able to get there.

RunLine picks for today's games

So yesterday was a tough day, but enough about the past on to what's happening today.

RUNLINE PICKS OF THE DAY
Minnesota @ Kansas City - Kansas City(-149) to WIN
Washington @ Arizona - Arizona(-164) to WIN
Tampa Bay @ Seattle - Seattle(-124) to WIN

The Espresso DOUBLE LONG SHOT of the day
------------------------------------------
Toronto @ Baltimore - Toronto(+123) to WIN
Detroit @ Chicago - Detroit(+123) to WIN

So there you have it, my picks for the day.

As for the rest of the games here's who I have to win.
ATL, FLA, BOS, PHI, TEX, LAD, STL, SD, LAA, COL

I almost put in Colorado as one of my long shots, but they swing too much. Month to month, week to week, inning to inning, you're never really sure where they're going to land. They could beat SF tonight 11-4, or they could lose 4-11. Flip a coin, call it and tell me who's going to win. If I HAD to put money on it, I'd say it's heads up for Colorado.

The PAIN!!!!

Oh the pain!

Tonight was definitely an off night, with the Pirates giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, Cleveland with 2 innings of 3 runs to lose what would have been a solid lead, and Minnesota beating Kansas City's unfortunate defense with 6 runs in a single inning. Only the long shot of the day came through for me, with Houston taking down San Diego 7 to 4.

Well, there is always tomorrow but here is how today's calls looked.

Pittsburgh @ New York Mets - Pittsburgh to Win ----- NYM Win by 1
Texas @ Cleveland - Cleveland to Win ----- Texas Win by 3
Minnesota @ Kansas City - Kansas City to Win ----- Minnesota Win by 6

Long Shot of the Day
Houston @ San Diego - Houston to Win -- Correct -- Houston Win by 3

See you all tomorrow morning.

First Posted Predictions

Thanks for visiting, this is my first official post on the blog. However I do have some posts on facebook.

QUALITY PICKS FOR JUNE 2ND, 2011---------
As I'd posted earlier today on Facebook here are my predictions for the day.

Pittsburgh @ New York Mets - Pittsburgh to Win
Texas @ Cleveland - Cleveland to Win
Minnesota @ Kansas City - Kansas City to Win

Long Shot of the Day
Houston @ San Diego - Houston to Win
---------------------------------------------

A solid 2 of 3 from yesterday.
Cleveland and Pittsburgh won, however the 3rd pick Philadelphia fell behind and tarnished the day and my first day of publishing my MLB picks.
